Brandon Treichler, DVM

Quality Control Veterinarian, Select Milk Producers

Growing up on a diversified crop and cattle operation in eastern Pennsylvania, I developed a deep respect for those that work the land and a passion for the care of food animals. Those roots have helped me build my career, and veterinary practice on sharing my passion for food animal medicine as well as advocacy for responsible food production. My consulting veterinary practice focuses on helping producers be proactive in planning to meet both the needs of today and the challenges of tomorrow by being the best possible stewards of the resources at our disposal. I consult with food animal operations on the areas of Animal Care and Welfare, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship, Food Safety, and Workforce Development and Safety in agricultural areas globally.

I am extremely active in my efforts to advocate for and represent the veterinary profession, animal agriculture and the animals in our care. I am the 2020 recipient of the AABP James A Jarrett Award for Young Leaders. I serve on the AVMA Animal Agriculture Liaison Committee, helping to represent production animal medicine and the care and health needs of food animal industries within the veterinary community. I also sit on the board of the Professional Animal Auditor Certification Organization (PAACO), which is the foremost certifier of animal care audits and auditors globally. In addition, Brandon also serves on the National Milk Producers Federation’s Farmers Assuring Responsible Management or F.A.R.M Animal Care Task Force.

Most important of all my efforts is being a good husband to my wife Dr. Sarah Giebel who is my partner in our consulting practice and being a good father to our son Asher. We hope to instill our shared love of the land and agriculture as well as respect for cattle with him as he grows.
